Now that my negotiated project is done and out the way, my dissertation has my full attention.
"How are the aesthetics of a photograph measured?"
The basic concept of it is, what makes a good photograph? Does it come down to skill? Talent? Experience? Can anyone take a good photograph? Is a good photograph one that leaves you questioning? Or one that leaves you satisfied? I am interested to see people's thoughts on this.

£22.89 Express Delivery
So the book is done and handed in and I've now got the worlds most horrendous cold. I'm really happy with it though, (the book).
Paying that extortionate amount for express delivery was worth it. Now, time to sleep.

Basically, this does my head in
So for my negotiated project I've been creating a visual documentation of a personal narrative. It is a street photography piece done of 35mm showing my relationship with Birmingham. Which basically, does my head in.
I am making this a very current project which means it is showing exactly how I feel right now, as I know it is only for now that I don't like where I am.
The pure document is what I am looking at, with works from people like Emerson and the photo secessionists.

Why can't I just...
I think this photograph is amazing! Jo Gane did a series of wet plate collodion photographs of Birmingham. So I went to the same site to create something of my own...however I got chucked out and it was shitty weather. This is what I managed to get:

Street art without the street
Went to see this exhibition of street art in Coventry. I liked most of it but it did feel a bit out of place having in a gallery space and not in the street. It did make me want to do some screen printing, have done any of years.

Do I need to explain the word, 'negotiated?'
For my latest negotiated project I am looking at creating a documentary street photography piece using 35mm.
My DSLR and I have fallen out. So I'm using my ol'faithful Olympus.

In short, I'm going to photograph everything I hate. And believe it or not, there is a lot. Here's a taster so far:

The architectural body
I am now working on an experimental photography project which is titled 'the body.' I've started to look at the body of city and the architectural forms within Birmingham. The idea that a city is man made and that each building has a specific function has led me to think that when a building is abandoned, what is it left to? Why is it left when it is something we created it?
I went to check out these tower blocks in Perry Barr that I heard were to be demolished in the hope I could get some snaps on the inside however I was too late.
